This guide is not for picking up the best Brand for your SD card, but Picking the right type of SD Card. Here are some important thing you should know for SD Cards.
As shown in above image, the Classes of Card defines the speed classes. It presents the minimum Read/Write speed.
Now we comes to Type of SD Card and Size(Capacity) of SD Card, actually they are technically card capacity Standards.
- The SD standard (Secure Digital) supports cards with up to 2GB of storage, using the FAT 12 or FAT 16 file systems
- The SDHC standard (Secure Digital High Capacity) supports cards with up to 32GB of storage, using the FAT 32 file system
- The SDXC standard (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) supports cards with up to 2TB of storage, using the exFAT file system
For an average user, Class 2,4,6 SD cards can perform reasonably well, but if you are an advance user, consider looking beyond Class 6 cards.
